What is DNA testing?

DNA testing provides information about the genetic background (species, varieties, breeds, sex, specific characteristics) of your plants and animals. This testing is also possible in animal and plant products, verifying the authenticity of your products.

Why DNA testing?

Using DNA technology we can provide identification services to any plant or animal species and their products, because DNA can act as the identity of everything and it is neither altered nor lost.

What type of animals and products can you test?

Generally, whatever has a biological origin given that the DNA has survived any product processing steps. More specifically: -Any Plant species/varieties -Any Animal species/breeds -Any Product of the above -Cultivar Identification -Sex/Gender Testing -Specific Genetic Characteristics Selection -Fungal Identification -Microbial Community Identification -Algae species (Spirulina, Chlorella) -Mushroom species

Where are DNA tests done?

DNA tests are carried out in molecular biology laboratory at INAB/CERTH (Institute of Applied Biosciences/Centre for Research and Technology Hellas). The lab is certified by ISO 9001 (ensure that the business maintains a reliable level of quality in terms of its goods and services, which not only meets but also exceeds customer expectations). and ISO 17025 (demonstrates that laboratories operate competently and generate valid results, thereby promoting confidence in their work both nationally and around the world) as well.

Is your laboratory certified?

Our molecular biology laboratory is in the process of obtaining ISO 27001, ISO 22301 and ISO 17025, ensuring that our analyzes maintain a reliable level of quality.

How long does it take to get the test results?

The delivery time of the results depends on the type of analysis and the number of samples required to be tested. Some tests take longer to complete. However, usually this does not take more than 7-15 days.

How accurate are DNA results?

DNA analysis is known for its high reliability and accuracy.

How much does DNA Testing cost?

The final cost is established by summarizing the number of tests, along with the nature of those tests. Our services are quite affordable especially when the need for testing is periodical, thanks to our unique contract offers. In the case you need to test for special species or varieties for which DNA testing is not established, or in the case you need to genetically select a specific characteristic (sex, productivity, size, etc), novel genetic fingerprints might need to be developed. In those cases the price will vary depending on the extra time required for development, however any further DNA testing will fall under the usual pricing rates.

What happens to samples after they're done being processed?

The samples you send us are kept for a short time in the laboratory in case you wish for any reason to repeat the analysis. After the end of this period of time (depending on the necessity of the situation) we will dispose of them.

How do I test?

What do I need to do after conducting for testing?

You can simply send us the samples to be examined, according to the instructions that will be given to you following our communication (either by phone or via mail).
